After replacing the above items and filling with fluid, it is extremely important NOT TO START THE ENGINE until after the front wheels are raised from the ground and the bleeding procedure has followed.
So wherever you perform the repair, that is the location that you must raise the wheels.
Here are the instructions for the replacement and bleeding procedure. Hopefully the 2 yrs. of driving with air in your system did not ruin the pump, but this would be the cheapest way to find out. |
While doing the engine oil change I found oil around the long bolt of the compressor. Tracing it back it seems that power steering fluid is leaking and the fluid is all over the pump area. I checked the level of the fluid and the 20C mark was way high almost close to the max line for 80C.
Shame that I did not check after the dealer flush a year back!
Question I have now is could this potentially have damaged the pump and causing the leak? I have ofcourse corrected the level, do I need o do anything else at this point of time? Thanks
