Trigger points in the bottom of the distributor could be dirty. I have the voltage reducer that is crumbled you can have that for free. They also have a problem with the engine not properly grounded. Just come over and I'll show you where and how.
I'm working in a 1972 sl with a v8. The original problem was very rough idle, very hard to start. I've changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, fuel filter and a couple of fuel lines. The car run better but still difficult to start. I call myself checking the coil wires and the positive wire runs to I guess it's a compasitor. Anyways it completely crumbled and fell apart but the wires was still somewhat attached to a spiraled single wire. I connected the two wires and now have no spark. Have any idea
