gearbox flush?

Hi all

I bought a mercedes a170cdi (t reg) 2 days ago with the F fault on the dash. The previous owner has always had it serviced by a MB Specialist.. The problem im having is when putting the car into reverse, there is a loud clunking about every 3 seconds, reverse works but there is some underlying problem. One of the things i noticed was that the winter summer switch was broke, i have removed the switch cover so i can see the board, but what i want to know is, could it be possible that its stuck in winter mode, this would explain why it starts of from second? Also the car is constantly in limp mode. I had the aa come out and take a look at it and it read error p1470 turbo boost pressue to high/low?

The aa man thought it could be something as simple as low gearbox oil.

Also the lady who i bought the car off said the MB specialist said it needs a gearbox flush as something is sticking? does this sound right? And roughly how much would it cost to get this flushed?

Also what gearbox oil is used in my car?

Sorry for babbling. Hope ive covered everything.
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this.

Tony
