It has a poly V belt that drives essential services like water pump, air con etc, and it has a timing chain I hope it's not that that's caused the failure or it's goodbye engine. unless you are very lucky indeed.
Is there any loss of fluids, oil , coolant?
did you wife see any warning lights on the instrument cluster before the car stopped?
