YES the gas and diesel are cheaper than Vodka or my favorite Gin. A bit of a shortage as well right now with prices for bottles going up 250% to 400% lately. Glad the wife and I brought 2 bottles each back on our last trip to Singapore.
As for Diesel here, I don't know what the contents are I know this if you try and put this subsidized stuff sold by Pertamina (the state oil company) here in any diesel car in the States it will shut down. The Tourareg I have on order was built from the ground up with a Euro II engine and was built for countries like Indonesia and the like in Africa. We do have Shell Diesel here (sold at 2.25 x that of Pertimina diesel) that you can put in to a Euro III & IV engine but any Euro V to Euro VIII you can forget. The Touareg also comes in a V10 TDI version but the engine is Euro VI and they won't import it here.
