Thanks Dan.
The vacuum tubes were the problem apparently. I haven't tested the car myself but the wife took it for a test run and said things were a lot cooler.I may have to tweek it a little once I recharge the freon.
The SRS light remains on and I know I did not mess with the module on the center console behind the ashtray and the bulb is in position three in the cluster.#one is "check engine" two is empty and three is definitely SRS and it won't go out until I find the short.
Also, I am still stumped on number 10 fuse.
While poking about under the dash to the left of the steering column I did notice a connector that had no cable connected to it.Somewhere under there is a wire that needs to be plugged in but I'll be danged if I can find one.
The connectors are black and the ones facing the back of the car are female receptacles so I am looking to connect a male wire to it. Behind those connectors are male receivers and take female cables like the one attached to the outside temp gage.
I did take photos but apparently not enough details and not enough photos and not in the dark corners. I rely too much on memory.
These are little annoyances. I am just glad the car is functioning again and do not have to share my w124. Both cars are roadworthy to a certain extent and I enjoy both of them.Wife likes the "baby benz" best and is happy to be back behind the wheel.
Thanks again, Dan.
