| Def not HG as the rate it is consuming oil and no creamyness in header tank also the van will sometimes continue to run even when the keys are removed from the ignition.. all points to rings to me. Also if it were HG and was burning oil at the rate it does I would expect the van to overheat which it doesn't. I wish it was HG.
I found an engine for £400 complete with all ancillaries and pump etc.. thus hopefully making it an easy swap. The engine is in a insurance write off van so no warranty and obviously a risk/gamble as the van is pretty much worthless with a dead engine is almost worth the gamble even if my mate just gets the engine in and get shot, though I suspect he'll keep and run it into the ground.
Would one take the engine out the top or drop the subframe ? |
