I assume it does not have the IR key/ignition switch based drive authorisation system but the older transponder key based one?
I'm not familiar with this old system but usually there is a transponder key reader coil at the mechanical ignition switch and a key reader control unit. This unit may be connected to the engine ECU, at least on later models.
All parts related to drive authorisation are coded together, it is not possible to replace a part with a used spare part, only new parts can be coded to work with the rest of the existing parts. |
