Where can I go from here? Alright, so I'm looking for opinions from people who know what they're talking about (that's you guys). This board has been really helpful to me in the past so that's why I'm asking this here.
Right now I drive a 1989 190e 2.6. I really love that car but it's older and it has over 205,000 miles on it. It's started to get a weird rattle at certain rpm's, it has more rust than I'm comfortable with, blah blah blah. What I'm trying to figure out is where I can go from here. I'm selling my motorcycle and as I save up more money will eventually sell my car (don't know how much I can get for it though, hmm...).
My question is: what, in your opinion, would be a nice replacement for the 190? What i have in mind is to spend $5-7 grand on an e320, because to me, that's the next step up. I want something much newer and I'd like to stay with Mercedes but I also have read some disconcerting things about the electrical work in these cars. What are your opinions on the e320's and is there a certain year ('96-'98) that has been shown to have the least trouble? If not an e320, what else?
I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
Thanks!
