Don't forget... probably the biggest difference is the gauge cluster and steering wheel upgrade. 2000+ had the updated gauge cluster with message center which I think is a huge advantage over the old style gauge cluster (as long as the pixels are still glowing). The steering wheel also had audio/ message center controls, and a chrome star in the middle. The wood in the CLK 430 was also upgraded that year from the brown burl walnut (99) to the black maple (2000). If I were you Id go for the latest model you can afford.... more upgrades, and (hopefully) better build quality. |
