I can't find a orange fiber optic cable :-(
Do you have some of you a manual how to install it?
Can you help me please... |
You do not have an fiber optic in your car since you do not have any components that require it. Your car is probably very similar to mine. I also recently installed a mObridge unit and in the kit a 1m fiber optic cable was supplied. You will need to use this but since you don't have any other components to loop it with, you will need to purchase a connector (see attached picture) to attach to the other end. Also, download the attached Porsche install manual. This is also available on mObridge's website. That assisted me. As far as where to put the unit, I chose to put it below the metal panel down in the passenger foot well. You have to bend some of the metal prongs, and the 1m fiber is barely long enough. Another good spot is in the glove compartment since you don't have a CD changer, but you will have to drill some holes for the cables. I didn't like that. Others have suggested behind the COMAND, but I didn't think there was enough room there.
Another important note is that you will have to go to the dealer (or someone else with similar ability) to have your MOST ring enabled. Have them populate "component 1" as the CD changer. You also may have to have them enable your steering wheel buttons. I don't know for sure if yours will. I have TELEAID installed so my buttons were already enabled. Also as a disclaimer, all my experience quoted here is based off a US Spec MCSII COMAND.
Hope this helps. Post more questions if you have them.
