I had this done on my car under recall b/c the stupid thing had the tiniest hairline crack. Went to mercedes and after they were able to figure out what type of car(euro model) they said they did the work. I had them do some other thing also which ran up the bill to 1300$, and they threw in a needed alignment and washing.

I would be under the impression that if your car is subject to the recall and hasn't been fixed mercedes is UNDER obligation to repair the car as a public safety issue. If they give you any crap say that you are going to contact the NHTSA with the recall information and have them mitigate. Mercedes is obligated to fix the car if it is a recall. Same goes for any other car/motorcycle. I thought I'd get free parts for the buell under recall , a drive belt is like 100$, but some responsable schmuck had the thing fixed before I got my paws on it.
