In 1982, I brought a team of jet engine technicians to a Pakistani Air Force base to assist with F16 operations. There was a fleet of new RHD Toyota Corollas waiting for us at the airfield where we landed. The Base Commander asked us to each take a car and follow him to the Officers Club for a briefing. When he had us all assembled at the briefing. His first words were:
"Well, I knew the Americans had arrived. At the first turn leaving the field, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw ten Toyota's with their windshield wipers going on a sunny day! Let's hope flight operations go better."
