Pulled my motorcycle trailer Albuquerque-Corpus Christi-Albuquerque last March with no problem. Have never seen a reported failure on any forum.
Trailer brake is an option, plain and simple. Glad I didn't have to pay for it, as my motorcycle trailer has surge brakes and I don't need a controller. This is not a problem with the vehicle.
