I took the car this morning to an independent MB mechanic and he was able to reset the SRS light from the connector in the fuse box under the engine hood. He didn't charge me anything. He said that the body shop must have unplugged and re-plugged the air bag cable while the car was on at some point during this process, or at least the key was in position 2.
