Unfortunatly 5 to 7 more miles per gallon does not really offset the higher cost of diesel fuel. I believe that the "new economics" of fuel consumption eat up the advantage of the diesel considering the premium one pays to purchase one. Thats not saying its a bad engine but only that things have changed and I do not believe that we will see any future reductions of fuel costs that amount to any savings over todays price. In fact I believe that it will become more expensive in the future.
