Hey N5160,
I don't think what you're saying is really always the case. Sometimes the speaker is actually screwed up. I took the grill off mine today and drove around to see if that cut down on the buzzing.... no beans.... still buzzed at all the same times and with the same music it had before. I've only had this car about 3 months and for having the upgraded sound system I thought it always sounded too "bright"... and like it was missing a ton of midrange. I've had other benzs with the high end Bose systems that totally rocked. Anyway... I started fiddling with the exposed speaker a bit today and noticed it's come completely detached from the frame... I'm picking up a new speaker this weekend... got a relative on the inside at a dealership...LOL. Anyway.. when I get the new one in I'll take some pictures of the damage... and post resulting changes in quality of sound.. if there is a noticeable difference.
