Obviously each case is different and you'd have to run your own numbers but many people have found that the gain in fuel economy is still greater than the price difference in premium to diesel. Factors to consider include location, time of year (diesel prices drop during summer months), miles driven, and driving style.
I'm also curious, what kind of repairs were not covered?
