VDubs

! I can across this thread and decided to chime in. like most of you guys I'm partial to old school dubs. They're fun cars and easy to work on. My first VW was an '86 GTi I bought from my friend. Eversince that day I've always had VW's in our garage. My wife's first car was a 91 VW Jetta GL. She loved that car but we traded it in '96 for a MKIII Jetta GLS. We still have the 96 Jetta with 246,000 miles and still going strong. The only problems we had were the auto tranny which was replaced under warranty and those damn window regulators. I've replaced the front 's side twice and the front passenger side three times

!
In the past my collection included the 86 GTi (Tornado Red), 91 Jetta GL (Alpine White - wife's previous car), 83 Rabbit GTi (Cahmere White), 84 Jetta GLi (Alpine white), 84 Jetta GLi (Mars Red), 96 Jetta GLS (Candy White - wife's current car), and a 91 Jetta GLi 16V (Alpine White). At the moment we only have the 96 Jetta GLS and the 91 Jetta GLi left. We sold the rest before moving from NJ to Cali.
This thread just brought back memories

! I remember going to Waterfest and Autocrossing at Ft. Dix or Camden. The MKII's are definitely my favorites and I don't think I'll ever give up my 91 GLi. I just love that 2.0 16V motor. Right now it's clocking 275,000 miles and hoping to reach 300,000.
Anyway, good luck to milosz87 on your on going project. These cars are addictive and so much fun
