BTW, Mercedes has made a few cars since the 2.3-16 that are "driving cars" as well.

I don't think I have to defend or explain my admiration for the W201 design and history, but I am not so "smitten" that I can readily ignore reality.
Their high dollar value does not mask their utter impracticality then or now and one has to live with a late model Mercedes a few years to appreciate the utility of a car like the 190E.
