Not viable as driving cars?
If they lack viability, it's more the result of their multi-million dollar value, not due to any lack of performance or road worthiness.
BTW, Mercedes has made a few cars since the 2.3-16 that are "driving cars" as well.
I don't think I have to defend or explain my admiration for the W201 design and history, but I am not so "smitten" that I can readily ignore reality.
