I did have a similar problem some time a go and what I did was to buy Mercedes pads as
they were thinner.
So I don't think cutting good rotors is a good idea.
Most likely you have the wrong pads.
An other way I did, was to go with PBR with out the shims.
If you have no other choice cut the pads.
