I own a 1986 300SE Euro and I just had my refrigerant changed from R12 to R134a. After switching it, the mechanic said that my compressor was overheating the fuse and that I would need to replace the comprssor otherwise it would just blow a fuse again.

Is this normal?

If so, any recomendations on compressor replacements that would fit my model?
