I've seen a dealership claim that his all black convertible coupe was an original paint job, but the car proved to be an aftermarket work with an imitation amg kit on it. He was selling a "low mileage" 2 dr convertible coupe on 20" wheels for over $18k and over 75k miles on it. I also asked about the paint code and he didn't or couldn't answer.

Most of the W124 that are black on Autotrader.com are solid black, unless it's a E320. But it seems like the E420(400E) and 500E had the options more than the E320. At least that's what I've noticed.
