...and you still have the hood-star, BRAVO. Those covers over the headlights are a bear to replace also. Car looks terrific!!
Parts are available all over the internet. Just see how many sites pop up when you enter "Classic Mercedes Parts" in a search engine. The only bad part is waiting for shipping. Checker carries a lot of parts for my 72 280SE 4.5. Don't get sucked into overpriced spark plug cables, lots of times they have usable ones in stock. Mine are from a 75 International for only $28, didn't feel like waiting 7-10 business days for the $70 set that it said I needed. In the case of filters, distributer caps, etc.. try to take the old part in to autozone, napa, or wherever and just ask them to match the part up throught cross reference. I couldn't find an air filter in town, so i took my old one into the store and started opening boxes and comparing. These old benzes are really not that hard to maintain, so long as you're clever.
