There are a few different products available for convertible tops, locally you should be able to find Mothers convertible top cleaner/protectant. I prefer 1z Einszett Convertable Top Cleaner/Protectant, but it's only available online. You can find it on autogeek.net, among other places.
Basically you'll want to wash it with a gentle cleaner/soap that doesn't contain detergents. Also, it shouldn't contain any kind of conditioner if it's the first time you're really going at it, or if it's heavily soiled. After it's dry, you'll want to apply the conditioning agent - RAGGTOP is great for canvas and vinyl. But if it's vinyl, always follow up after that first conditioner with 303 aerospace. Follow up with the 303 whenever you think it's wearing off - it will save the top through the years. It's hard to go wrong with 303.
