My 1980 300SD has a shifting problem...It shift into the top gear before I hit 15 mph...I took it to the shop (Leicht Auto, Waconda Illinois) really good guy...He thought it would just be the valve body gasket...That didn't fix the problem...I guess I need a new "valve body"...has to be for a 116.120...He said this is going to be very hard to find...should only be a couple of hundred bucks if I can find one...Mechanic told me that he use to exchange (broken unit for factory new unit) with dealerships for $1000, but that was a long time ago and don't offer anymore.......Please let me know if anyone knows where I might be able to find this valve body...I can manually shift through the gears right now and It's fine, but I'm sure I will get tired of it.
