The trim seems to be made of thin multi-layered plastic pieces, formed to fit over the existing dish and center console parts and backed by a 3M adhesive. The pieces are very flexible but they aren't just crack and peel vinyl stickers...I wouldn't do that to my Mercedes! They say it's made to match the existing wood and from what I can tell it looks pretty close...right down to the high gloss and smooth tactile feel when you run your fingers over it. My car is in the shop right at the moment so I can't tell for sure how close it matches my wood, which is the dark burl walnut. Someone rear-ended me a few weeks ago and I'm getting the rear bumper fixed. The damage looks minor...just a cosmetic ding where one of the other guy's license plate bolts dug into my bumper. But I saw one of the rear bumper support struts was bent when I looked underneath so it wasn't as minor as it seemed apparently.

When I get the car back I'll do the kit install.
