Black is much easier to find then red ( Signal Red )
When I purchased my 88 300CE new in May of 88, I discovered that there were only 200 Signal Red coupes brought to the USA market.
From one who has owned the vehicle for twenty years, don't negate the M103-12V.
It's a motor that is simplistic, has great torque and doesn't give up much in performance to the M104-24V.
