| I have the same problem with my 1992 300 SD, my mechanic told me that it is the turbo...regardless he said at certain time the turbo needs to be change. For my case it happens to be because the previous owners has been using a veggie oil...and for some reason he said it affected the engine...
I would say get another turbo...
