I read exactly what you wrote, and I stand behind what I stated, your suggestion not withstanding.
What a man has done in the past is an excellent predictor of what he will do in the future. A man that has been a thief for the past 20 years is not very likely to be anything other than a thief for the next 20 years unless he is put in jail.
