I just did the yellowed headlights of our Ford yesterday, using 400 grit sandpaper to wet sand, then 1000-grit scotchbrite to wetsand, then polishing compound, then Turtle Wax scratch-removing wax, all buffed with a drill-end buffer ball made of foam.
All the yellow came off and the lenses are much clearer. They are not, crystal clear as shown in the links above, however. Our were yellowish and rough even after washing. They're now clear, but still a little foggy, and smooth. My whole job took about 30 minutes to do both lights.
