Never change the color of the paint on a Mercedes.
To take the car apart in order to really do a complete paint job [door jambs, engine compartment, etc.] is very, very expensive. Change the color in a detectable way and you have killed the collector, or vintage car enthusiast value of the car.
If you don't care about the value, then have at it... but a
knowledgeable buyer will be looking for issues such as this, especially if the new paint is not a stock Mercedes color.
Your car is a Mercedes, not a '57 Chevy.
