You have to remove that panel to get to the COMAND system actually, so you can't remove the radio to help you
If you have to remove the ashtray, slide it open, and there are torx screws that you can remove and then slide the tray out. You'll have to maneuver the tray open/close in order to wiggle it out between the two grab handles. | lt worked like a charm...........l have removed all the wooden pieces and replaced them with the graphite-looking bezels..lt looks much better with the aluminum pieces on the doors...."more sporty"...Thanks again..........as always.............
