I got help from a Hispanic gentleman. It cost me $80 but it was well worthed. We got the subframe out of the 79. It took 2 hours. It's in good condition with no signs of cracking.
I walked out the check out counter and showed them what I got and the total was $215.00 for the subframe and the control arms. The complete subframe comes with brakes, sway-bar, steering box. for only $160.00. I had to go back to pull the rest of the stuff to be able to get the complete suspension's price. I made a deal with them to come back to pull the steering box tomorrow. Does anyone need a steerring box? I replaced mine about 6 months ago.

Yes, I live nearby two big MBZ dealers. I went there to order the gusset to weld to the new "used" subframe while it is out of the car and I didn't think about asking them about the extension of the recall. Maybe I'll try and hopefully I should get the gusset thrown in.

When I got to the frame shop, they had already welded the broken parts together. They told me that it is stronger now than before. The cost was $350. They did this without calling me for authorization. It would cost $950 to swap out the subframe. I don't know which way to go...tell me what you think...
