My wife's 2002 c240 has been acting up recently. She complained the other morning of the car not wanting to upshift and wouldn't change form Summer to Winter mode. I disregarded the second part and assumed it was shifting late when cold which is normal when the engine is trying to warm up. She rarely allows her car to warm up before driving.

But tonight she called me because she was driving on I-5 and at 40 mph her tach was reading 5k!. Told her to pull off, shut off the ignition and try again. It worked. But I had her bring it by my work so I can see if I could duplicate. I started the car. Emmediately tried to shift to Manual mode and it wouldn't. The 'D' indicator would not change to a gear position. So I drove it. It would not upshift out of first. I turned the car off, turned it back on. Tried the summer/winter button. It worked. Tried the manual shift. It worked. Put back in 'D' and drove off and it worked just fine. I'm curious now if the transmissions computer is acting up. It's intermittent for sure. Any ideas out there??
