I once owned a clapped out 1953 VW Bug - Black with a split back window :

- no heat
- no gas guage
- no nothing
- no good

I later bought a brand new 1966 VW for cash ( DM 5500 @ 4:1 =$ 1375 ) Toured Germany, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Great car.
