Had a friend whose dad had a 60 Bug, I remember reaching under the glove box to turn the handle when the car started to chug. Horrors when miles from anywhere and we found his dad had already used the reserve tank
No gas heater option, just lots of scrapers to keep the windows clear in -40 temperature.
OH!!! by the way I think the answer to your question is "Drum Roll"
no gas gauge.
Only car without one I think.
