The ignition lock tumbler issue is real in cars that are 20+ years old and big miles but USUALLY if you keep a bunch of keys on your key ring. The added weight of the bulk seems to be the trigger to the extra wear on that item. When symptoms do start, don't wait. It is a real bitch to fix without the right tool and after failure.
