| W126 420 engine/trans into W124 - will it fit?
Friend of mine has a W124 and the engine is dying. Rather than rebuild it, he's found a wrecked W126 420SEL with a good engine and transmission.
Could the 420SEL engine and tranny drop into the W124 wagon? Would they even fit? Is the driveshaft the same? What about the electronics and wiring harness? Could he leve the rear end of the 300TE in place?
Any other probems? Would this even be cost effective?
