What do you mean by "thick" lucas oil?

If your running to thick of oil your asking for more trouble, the oil pump isnt supposed to be pumping very heavy oil. It will cause more stress.

Mercedes Benz only specify 40 weight oils. And the only Synthetic oil they recommend is Mobil 1, you should be using 5w40, 0w40, 10w40 oils in these engines. Anything thicker and your asking for trouble, especially from Lucas they make terrible products.
