leaking 300D

Hi, agree with you. Doubt very much that you need a knew IP. If the fuel is coming out at the bottom of the injectors you have to install new o-rings and copper washers. You require a special socket to remove the part directly situated on top of the pump. You have to be very careful not to disturb the valve parts in the pump. A garage should charge only a couple of hours to change the o-rings. Also make sure the hard fuel lines have all the plastic clips to hold the lines in place. Othewise the lines will break at the ends due to metal fatigue. Good luck

QUOTE=MP4-23;2672252]The car is a 1990 300D, 136,000mi and it has been sitting in my garage for a year. I am going to start driving it again as soon as i get it registered. my mom took the car to a local mom n' pop garage and they told her that the Injection pump was leaking and that it had to be replaced. I found that hard to believe, because usually when there is a leak it is caused by a faulty gasket or seal. The leak is on top of the injection pump where the front hard line enters the IP. Can i replace all the seals on the lines at the IP? can i purchase these seals at a MB dealership? any special tools needed?

Any help/info would be great,
THANKS[/quote]
