| I'll start things off. I bought my first MB (1982 300D) in hopes of running it on WVO. I remembered reading an article years ago about a guy running his diesel VW on used cooking oil, it always intriged me. With the help of this and other forums I got the car cleaned up and running fine (on diesel) When I started looking into WVO conversions and filtering / treating the oil, my figuring was that it would take about 4 years of driving on "free fuel" to break even. I liked the original car but soon decieded that I wanted a coupe. I found one (1985 300CD) and have been driving and enjoying it until about a month ago when I bought my SL (1997 SL320). I've been bitten by the Mercedes bug and am fortunate to be at a point in my life where I can afford and have a few toys. |
