I was in SoCal for the Thanksgiving holiday. My son and I went to the LA Autoshow and saw the new C63. Very impressive in person! The car has a very menacing appearance, very well executed.
On a nearby stand, I saw the new M3 BMW which, while a coupe as opposed to a four door sedan, really did not excite me the way the C63 did. The styling of the M3 is rather blah and not very distinctive when compared to the standard 3 series coupes. Other than the line of the hood incorporating the power dome, it's lacking pizazz.
By the way, apparently Mercedes has an "owners' lounge" area at the larger car shows. The hostess asked if I had my Mercedes keys with me to "identify" myself as an owner but despite Chevy Malibu rental car keys, I was admitted once she knew what models I own and who my selling dealer was. It was a nice oasis to get away from the throng!
I might add that they had a CLK 63 AMG Black Series there in silver. I'm glad mine is white!
