Good thought, but I think that it is throttle vacuum related, as when the car speed increases and the throttle is backed off, the noise disappears totally (sorry, forgot to mention that - ONLY present when accelerating) Also, it can be at lower speeds, maybe before the turbo has spun-up?
If it were the turbo, what would be making the noise & is this a 'fault' to be fixed?
Why would the noise be significant in the cabin?
