Unfortunately, one likely cause is the valve body within the tranny. On earlier MYs, the body was not shielded from settling grit so over time the small hydraulic valves became clogged. It is possible that a tranny flush and new fluid might cure the problem but that should only be tried after looking at the fault codes to eliminate other possibilities.
