An added benefit to this procedure is the remarkably quick time for the heater to respond. As we head into cooler weather, I have noticed that within 10-15 seconds of start-up, the heater is sending out warm air into the cockpit. I have never experienced such a rapid heater response in any other vehicle that I have driven.
I do not know if this is unique to the Bluetec, or whether the I6 CDI responds in a similar manner.
