| Drip...Drip...Drip! I bought a 2007 c230 about two weeks ago, and keep it in the garage of the house we are currently renting.
I've occasionally noticed drops of water on the right fender, behind the gas cap area. I was puzzled at first as to where they were coming from, but I didn't think much of it.
A few days ago, I realized that we have an A/C pipe going across the garage roof and, at the area just above where the Benz's right fender would be, there is a place along the pipe that does not have the black foam insulation tubing around the pipe. Thus, water is condensing on the cold pipe, and has been dripping onto the Benz overnight.
In the light, I now see several unsightly 'rainbow-colored' water marks. I have washed the car and the spots remain. 'Quick wipe' from MB does not remove them.
I therefore ask you, Benz detailers extraordinaire, what do I need to do to remove these spots? I'm quite pissed off at this, as this is a brand-new car (black), and I don't know what to do. I'm thinking that, when I first wax the car, perhaps the paint cleaner will remove them. But, I am not going to polish/wax the car for a few more months, as it just doesn't need it right now.
If I have to get professional help to remove them, I will. But I'd rather not spend the bucks if I can help it. Any ideas/suggestions appreciated!! |
