| that is a sucky situation... I actually do a lot of detailing myself too but its for almost no profit, i ask for nothing and if a payment is insisted which is usually the case i take just enough to cover my overhead for new supplies and toys to expand my arsenal. Most of it is for family and friends since my work is very good and unrushed. I think the problem w/ a lot of 'professional detailers' is the 'professional' part. When your in it too only make the buck then the quality drops. I do it for myself as a hobbie and almost as therapy since i find it very relaxing for some reason (probably the time to think about stuff and see the car transform into something brand new), even if i ever did charge someone for a decent profit i would still keep my standards up to what i expect when doing my own car if not even higher since its risking a strangers property.
Anyway its a damn shame people out there would charge $300 and deliever utter shit. Just goes to show paying a lot doesn't ensure quality.
