Hi GSP
You probably could have waited till the service indicator said service due & yes probably 3700 km is a bit early for the service but at least you've got all those nasty bits of metal out of your engine left in after the manufacturing process. As I mentioned in another post we always used to do the first oil change at about 750-1000 miles (say about 1200-1600 km)
After my first service (about 18000 miles) the counter also said service D & I think that was about 12,000 miles ahead. (I think the D service has some work done on the air con filters as well).
Mind you your service was very reasonable mine was about £270 probably about €400.
If i were you from now on I would go when the service says its due.

(I don't know if the B class is the same as the A class in this but my friend ,who like you only used to do low mileage, had a number of days to service come up on the display on his A class).

I should go back and demand that your service book is stamped if not write & complain to Mercedes that they have not stamped it & keep a copy of your letter & their reply.
